Peacock and NBCUniversal say all eight episodes of Crystal Lake are scheduled to become available on Peacock on October 15, 2026. That release pattern matters more for tonight’s planning than the familiar franchise iconography: this is scheduled as a full-season drop, not the beginning of a weekly release. Peacock’s U.S. materials identify the service and date; they do not establish observed availability in every territory or under every account tier.

The official setup moves backward from the original Friday the 13th. Linda Cardellini plays Pam Voorhees, a grieving single mother whose young son Jason drowned in the town lake almost a year earlier. As two strangers begin asking about her past, Pam becomes more entangled with Crystal Lake and its residents. That is the published premise, not a description of later reveals.

For franchise homework, the honest answer is optional rather than mandatory. Peacock calls the series a prequel, and its guide addresses viewers who have never seen the original as well as those refreshing their memory. On that evidence, After Hours recommends treating the 1980 film as optional rather than compulsory. The original still offers a useful comparison because Pamela is central to that story, but turning it into homework would make a Tonight choice into an assignment.

The eight-episode total is confirmed; an official episode-by-episode runtime list was not available in the reviewed sources. Do not translate ‘all episodes at launch’ into a promised one-night finish. A practical first-night plan is one episode, followed by a decision about whether the show’s version of Pam and the camp earns more time. Viewers who prefer a complete binge are promised the full season at launch without being told how many hours it will require.

Brad Caleb Kane is credited as creator, writer, showrunner and executive producer, while official materials describe the series as from or co-produced by A24. The announced cast also includes William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. Those credits help identify the production; they do not support a verdict on performances before viewing.

Peacock’s October guide separately lists the first three Friday the 13th films as available during the month and warns that content availability can change. That is a current U.S. service listing, not a permanent catalogue promise. Match the 1980 film if you want the Pamela comparison, and verify the current listing when you press play.

This Tonight guide uses Peacock and NBCUniversal’s official release records after discovery through Den of Geek’s calendar. After Hours did not receive a screener, attend an event or interview the cast or creators, and it is not presenting a review. The reused velvet-cinema artwork is an original editorial illustration and does not depict Crystal Lake, its characters or its performers.
